My Recommended Resources
Hi there, and welcome to my resources page!
On this page, I have collected the services, tools, and products that I can stand behind and recommend.
There are different categories for different products and services. Most of them are paid services or tools, but sometimes you just got to pay a premium to get a premium.
This list will never have a product or a service that I wouldn’t have used myself before and that I wouldn’t see the good and something worth buying.
I will also never recommend a product or a service just to get an affiliate commission or other benefits of doing so. These recommendations are honest, and I wholeheartedly stand behind them.
Disclaimer: This page has affiliate links, and I will get a small commission from these companies with no extra cost to you. Read the full disclosure on ToS.
Online Business Core
I currently use Siteground for upgraded performance and speed. Siteground is almost as easy to use as Bluehost. It has the same features, like one-click WordPress installation that makes your website come to life in a matter of minutes. The hosting service has an excellent 24/7 customer service, and for what I have been with them so far, I can highly recommend them. Siteground is a bit more expensive, but you will get speed and performance for the money used. Get started at $3.95 per month.
I can’t say enough good things about Elementor. It has saved my website design life. I can do pretty much anything with it. It’s intuitive, easy to use, fast, efficient, drag & drop website builder everyone should be using. You don’t need to write or read code (I don’t). This website you see here was all done with Elementor Pro. If there is one plugin you need for your site, this is it.
The #1 caching plugin. WP Rocket is the best caching plugin you can get, and it doesn’t even cost that much for the benefit it gives to your site. I like my site to be as fast as possible, and WP Rocket delivers the best caching solution available. Yes, you can always use some free caching plugins (which I used at the beginning) only to break your site. I have used WP Rocket for years now, and it has worked every day without problems.
Grammarly is a must have app if you are a blogger that has English as a second language. Grammarly is a writing assistant that corrects your writing and suggests improvements you might otherwise leave unnoticed. Even this writing here was written in Grammarly and have to say I love it. I’m not the best writer out there, but Grammarly aids me to become better.
Protect Your Online Business
My current recommendation for backing up your WordPress site is UpdraftPlus. I personally use the free version and have seen that it is enough for my business currently. UpdraftPlus is easy to use and you can schedule your backups to be executed as frequently as you like. My preference is to run backup every 12 hours or so.
The Sucuri plugin provides you Activity Auditing, SiteCheck Remote Malware Scanning, Effective Security Hardening, and Post-Hack features. SiteCheck will check for malware, spam, blacklisting and other security issues like .htaccess redirects, hidden eval code, etc. The best thing about it is it's completely free. If you like to get yourself firewall protection then I think Sucuri provides the best in the market though with a cost.
Loginizer is a WordPress plugin which helps you fight against bruteforce attack by blocking login for the IP after it reaches maximum retries allowed. You can blacklist or whitelist IPs for login using Loginizer. You can use various other features like Two Factor Auth, reCAPTCHA, PasswordLess Login, etc. to improve the security of your website.
Grow Your Business
The email service provider you need to have as a blogger. ConvertKit was built bloggers in mind. It has the automation features you need to reach your customers in an efficient way and a way that is not intrusive. I use ConvertKit and have liked it a LOT. It has simple user interface and has great status tracking tools. It’s also pretty affordable compared to some other email services out there. Yes, you can always find free ones, but trust me it comes with a cost. A cost which I wasn’t ready to pay, like losing subscribers or account getting closed without any notice. ConvertKit is my choice for keeping in touch with my people.
I have to admit that time is something I battle with all the time (pun intended). I think there is not enough time in a day to get all the things done that’s on my action list. If I didn’t have Tailwind, I would probably fail so bad with Pinterest. Tailwind is an app that lets you schedule your pins to Pinterest and frees so much of your precious time. Using Pinterest is important traffic-wise and Tailwind is the best scheduling app there is. I highly recommend getting this as soon as possible. This app will save your time immensely. When you signup through my link, you will get a 1-month FREE!
Monetize Your Online Business
The best thing about Gumroad is the fact that it takes care of everything for you. You don’t have to pay taxes or anything (check this before using), you only sell your products and services, and all is taken care of by Gumroad. It’s so simple and all around pleasure to use them. They are also very generous regarding their fees, so Gumroad is the best platform to sell your products and services from. It’s also free to use which is nice. They also integrate with ConvertKit seamlessly, so this is a damn excellent service all in all.
I once built my membership and online course site with Memberpress as it is the leading Membership site builder available for WordPress. Memberpress offers a massive amount of features and options to manage membership site and memberships. I consider Memberpress as the only option to have when building a membership site of any kind. There are some fantastic features like file protection which you won’t find in too many membership plugins. This plugin should be the one you choose when building a membership site for your online business.
Thinkific is a platform to sell your online course. I like Thinkific as it looks so professional, and it has a bunch of features available to you already in the FREE plan. Upgrading to the premium is something you should consider when you've made sales with your online course and can see a steady stream of sales. Thinkific as a platform is easy to use, and it works very intuitively. I can recommend Thinkific as your first platform for your online course.
